About Big papa

As of 2026, Big Papa’s has scaled back competition travel to focus more on teaching classes, catering parties, developing recipes, and making pickles, peppers, and sauces. 

We still enter a competition or two, but our favorite part is sharing home-cooking recipes and techniques in our classes! 

Our shop is the heart of our BBQ empire, showcasing more than 1,500 competition awards, 50 cookers, antique coffee pots, old canteens, plenty of cast iron, several trains, and a one-of-a-kind bottle opener collection. 

For more than 20 years, we have shared our BBQ stories in Woods N’ Water magazine, and we are also featured in the online edition of NBBBQNews.
